I got a sinking feeling when I heard this news about Hampshire and Norfolk council cutting jobs of about 100 and 1200 people. They are doing it for saving nearly £ 7 million which is being cut by the government at the senior management. According to the councils, they have to do this in order to tackle the current financial challenge. I cannot imagine how bad this is going to be for the families of the people who face the axe. The government jobs were considered most secure but now, it seems that it is no longer so. Government has withdrawn funding to the councils to meet the national debt.
I feel that the times are going to be difficult for many people in the days to come. One way it is going to be good as it would leave no place for anyone to become complacent. Everyone will have to on their toes. But what about those who cannot manage all this cut throat competition everywhere. Are we going to allow someone challenged due to any circumstances go down to the levels of poverty. I really wonder what our children are going to have to grow up to.

There are certain moments in life which stand out like a landmark. And most probably we use them to measure the progress of life’s journey. Sometimes we are aware of fact that we are in them, but often we do not. Presently I am sure that I am in the thick of such moments.
The last few days were really hectic for me. I wanted to announce my all friends that I was about to leave the UK. My entire time was spent in socializing and preparing for my big move “down under”. It was really strange experience for me in many respects. This is just because I had been deeply involved into mundane jobs of daily life like going to shopping & gym, relaxing in my bath, driving my car, enjoying movies, etc. All this routine work that was otherwise passing with frivolous thought, took a totally new flavor as they are about to change.
I really wanted to se my all friends, to enjoy the crumbs of time amid them so that I shouldn’t miss anything. It was like enjoying tiny sips of coffee which was nearly empty and not enough to finish the drink, but to enjoy the flavor and squeeze the value last few drops.
Finally day came; indeed it was hard moment for me. I said goodbye to all my friends, went downstairs to surrender my keys. I gave them and was left with no keys at all.
